What you can pay with, how card details are handled, and what to do when a payment does not go through.
The checkout shows the methods available for the country you select, so you are only offered an option that can actually complete. Available methods are shown at checkout for your delivery country, since a few local card schemes cannot be processed for every destination.
Card numbers are captured on the payment provider's hosted form rather than on this site, which is why we cannot retrieve a card number for you. We see only the last four digits and whether the payment succeeded.
PayPal orders are completed on PayPal's site and confirmed back to us instantly. Refunds return to the PayPal balance or account you paid from, usually within a day of us processing them.
The order total is in US dollars. Your bank applies its own conversion and may add a foreign transaction fee; that line on your statement comes from the bank, not from us.
A refusal is a message from your bank rather than a fault on the order. Nothing is captured when a payment fails, and a temporary authorisation clears itself within a few days.
Every page, including checkout, is encrypted in transit. The card form itself belongs to our payment provider, which means the number is typed into their interface and not into this site.
From our side an order shows a result, a total and a card ending, and nothing more. The full card number and security code are held by the payment provider and never enter our systems, so we will never ask you for them by email.
The first step is an authorisation, which reserves the total without taking it. We capture the payment at dispatch; if an order is cancelled before then, the reserved amount simply drops off instead of being refunded.
Your order confirmation is the receipt, and it carries the order number we will ask for if you contact us. If you need an invoice in a company name or with a tax number on it, write to us and we will provide one. Ask us and we will issue it against the same order number.
Contact us before raising a dispute with your bank. A pending hold from a failed attempt looks exactly like a payment and disappears by itself; genuine duplicate charges we refund the same day.
A chargeback is handled between your bank and our payment provider. We supply what we have, and where a claim is upheld the refund is made through the provider to the original card.
Refunds always return to the method that paid — the same card, or the same PayPal account. We cannot send a refund to a different card or pay it out in cash, because that is what prevents someone else claiming your money.
